“You just need to have faith,” my parents told me. I shrugged. Whatever.
“You just need to have faith,” the minister told me. I shook my head.
I didn’t.
I never prayed or thought of God in any meaningful way.
One day God appeared in front me, which was a bit of a shock.
“Do you understand now!” IT said in a thunderous voice. “I actually exist! So – now you can have faith!”
“But now I don’t need faith,” I told it. “You’re real – tangible. I don’t have to believe.”
I never did learn to have faith.
