You just need to have faith – a short story in less than 100 words

“You just need to have faith,” my parents told me.  I shrugged. Whatever.

“You just need to have faith,” the minister told me. I shook my head.

I didn’t.

I never prayed or thought of God in any meaningful way.

One day God appeared in front me, which was a bit of a shock.

“Do you understand now!” IT said in a thunderous voice.  “I actually exist! So – now you can have faith!”

“But now I don’t need faith,” I told it. “You’re real – tangible. I don’t have to believe.”

I never did learn to have faith.
